Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Tom Waits gets it too:
“Don’t you know there ain’t no devil, there’s just God when he’s drunk.”
“If there’s one thing you can say about mankind, there’s nothing kind about man.”
Even while it’s mostly an act, Tom Waits makes the perfect music for the current weather. If you have an emusic account you should check out ‘Blood Money’. Highly recommended.
BBC looses too
“Fittingly for a song with disputed authorship, A Whiter Shade Of Pale is rich in quotations from other works, and not just the classical motif that many hear in the arrangement: the JS Bach piece used in the cigar ads.“
As seen on BBC’s website.
Bach might roll over.
Remember..
Remember, remember the 5th of november
the gunpowder treason and plot
I can see of no reason
that the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot
Guy Fawkes
William Blake:
To see the world in a grain of sand
and a heaven in a wild flower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
and eternity in an hour.
All things are related.
freedom..

rebellions
I’ve been reading some quotes lately. They start harmless:
I hold it, that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.
But end up rather brutal:
God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. … What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.
The author? The third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson. At least he didn’t shoot a traitor on the white house’s lawn as wrongly stated in ‘Password: Swordfish’.
Shine on you Crazy Diamond
Come on you raver,
you seer of visions
come on you painter,
you piper, you prisoner,
and shine
I can only attribute missing out Syd Barrett’s death to being occupied with other stuff. Alas my birthday (july, 7th) is shadowed by his death. Shine on you Crazy Diamond.
on angels and apes
But we were born of risen apes, not fallen angels, and the apes were armed killers besides. And so what shall we wonder at? Our murders and massacres and missiles, and our irreconcilable regiments? Or our treaties whatever they may be worth; our sympathies however seldom they may be played; our peaceful acres, however frequently they may be converted to battlefields; our dreams however rarely they may be accomplished. The miracle of man is not how far he has sunk but how magnificently he has risen. We are known among the stars by our poems, not our corpses.
Robert Ardrey
It seldom happens that I’m speechless but this piece of art always accomplishes that for me.
last days of this term
As of today I am able to count the remaining exams and deliverables on just one hand. Feels great, looks like a andy 8 : university 1.
A friend of mine played a smashing pumpkins tune lately and I’m starting to rediscover their angry but melancholic lyrics. Some examples are following:
Lovely girl youre the beauty in my wrold
Without you there arent reasons left to find
over
It’s you that I adore
You’ll always be my whore
You’ll be the mother to my child
And a child to my heart
We must never be apart
(both ava adore)
to
The world is a vampire, sent to drain
Secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames
And what do I get, for my pain?
Betrayed desires, and a piece of the game
Even though I know - I suppose I’ll show
All my cool and cold - like old job
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
Bullet With Butterfly Wings
And there’s still Everlasting gaze..
